1. Learn about newly published and updated mathematics digital resource collections available free on PBS LearningMedia
2. Hear from a GBH Teacher Advisor on the importance of culturally responsive (CR) instruction in mathematics and preview CR resources soon to be published on PBS LearningMedia
3. Dive into instructional strategies shared by teacher presenters and leave with tips and resources you can immediately use with your students

Join us for an overview of new and updated free resources for mathematics for grades 5 through Algebra. We’ll showcase resources in the collections, Math at the Core: Middle School and Illustrative Mathematics on PBS LearningMedia, highlighting their accessible, assignable and culturally responsive features. And teachers will share stories of how they use and adapt them for their students. The resources range from short clips to interactive lessons to assignable student activities, plus more.

Culturally responsive teaching guides for each Math at the Core domain will be published shortly. You’ll get a sneak peak of them on the webinar and hear from one of the teacher advisors integral to their development. The guides frame each domain with relevant social justice questions that students can then explore through math.: For example: Who “gets in trouble” in school? Who decides what “getting into trouble” means? What do we mean by the term disproportionate? When children of color are being disproportionately suspended, is this significant?
