How can math teachers develop their students' higher-order thinking skills? One way to do so is through non-routine math problems. Routine problems are effective in promoting math fluency. Non-routine ones provide opportunities for students to make connection, consider alternate ways and evaluate which way is the most effective to solve a problem.

PROFILE : Ms. Linda holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from Calvin College, Michigan, USA and a Bachelor of Mathematics from Pelita Harapan University, Tangerang. Linda has experiences teaching mathematics using Singaporean approaches and methods for more than six years and is focused on developing teaching mathematics for Primary and Secondary School.
